Explore the profound impact of the two World Wars on ordinary people of New Brunswick in New Brunswickers in Wartime, 1914-1946, the new exhibition opened yesterday at the Canadian War Museum. The exhibit features the personal stories of individuals who served in uniform or in wartime industries, and those who supported the war from home. It also examines the people’s readjustment to civilian life at war’s end. TELUS has invested $875,000 in a new wireless site west of Revelstoke to bring new 4G wireless service to an important stretch of Highway 1 between Kamloops and the Alberta border. This project is a result of the 10-year Connecting British Columbia agreement signed with the Province of B.C. earlier this year. Under the terms of the contract, TELUS will connect more than 1,700 kilometres of highway with wireless service and run fibre optic cable directly to nearly 450 B.C. schools over the next five years. Montreal’s CAE announced today that it has sold four Level D full-flight simulators (FFS), including an ATR 42/72-600 FFS to European aircraft manufacturer ATR; a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 FFS to Ethiopian Airlines, the flag carrier of Ethiopia, as well as two FFSs, an Airbus A320 and a Boeing 737, to Shanghai Eastern Flight Training Centre, the training subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines. CAE has also received contracts for training devices and for simulator update services from several airlines. The contracts are worth a total of more than C$50 million at list prices, and bring the total number of FFS sales that CAE has announced to date during fiscal year 2012 to 25.
