Cackleberries Entertainment, a studio we first told you about in 2009, is set for official launch. Eight years in the making, Cackleberries is the vision of Coquitlam, BC mom Eronne Foster, who wanted to build a virtual world around teaching kindness, empathy, honesty and loyalty – along with a few school subjects. Word from Hasbro Canada this morning is that the company has enlisted the help of pop icon Britney Spears to introduce the company’s new Twister Dance game. The innovative game combines today’s best dance music with the iconic Twister spots and will give girls a new way to learn moves to today’s hottest dance songs, including a custom Twister remix of “Till the World Ends” featuring Britney Spears. Web Sim Sports Inc., a studio specializing in online sports gaming, launched a unique hockey simulator in July 2009, Web Sim Hockey, which is a multiplayer strategy game played entirely on the Web. Montreal’s 1 Last Try Games is pleased to introduce Evil Square 1.0 for iOS, their new geometry based puzzle Game, where players must arrange a collection of regular and irregular cubes and pyramids so that all the pieces fit perfectly within a black square grid. Shapes are of various sizes, colors, and 3D deformations, but each has a flat base with either three or four sides. Eunaborb, a free to play Flash game created for Ludum Dare, is the latest creation from Vancouver indie developer KrangGames. The object of the game is to guide your space-marble-resembling Eunaborb through a series of intergalactic platforms . Players will need to reach the warp portal at the end of each level, working towards the final goal in order to save the universe. Similar to a mini-putt in space, the game’s mechanic requires the player to essentially pull the Eunaborbs across the screen towards each goal. Read the rest of this entry »
