Rockie Awards Early Bird Submission Deadline Coming Up

Banff World Media FestivalIt’s now December, which means the early bird deadline for the Rockie Awards is around the corner! The Rockie Awards is the world’s biggest program competition that honours the highest quality in television and digital programming. Celebrated at the Banff World Media Festival in June, the Rockie Awards is now accepting submissions across 26 categories. In addition to some of the world’s most critically acclaimed dramas and comedies, each year the Rockie Award nominee roster includes the most thought-provoking documentaries in current affairs and science, inspiring kids and animated material, engaging factual programs such as the best in lifestyle and reality TV, and some of the most innovative web content. Ubisoft Montreal Chosen Golden Joystick Video Game Studio Of The Year

30 Canada Media Fund Supported Productions Receive 66 Gémeaux Awards

Canada Media FundThe Canada Media Fund (CMF) congratulates the winners of the 29th prix Gémeaux who received awards on September 11 and 14. With these awards, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television (ACCT) recognizes the outstanding work of industry professionals in the French language market. The Academy nominated 85 CMF-funded projects that received a combined total of 267 nominations. Of those, 30 productions won a total of 66 Gémeaux Awards, including top winners such as Série Noire, Les Beaux Malaises, Infoman, and the People’s Choice Award winner, Unité 9. Mark Meer Announced As Host For Canadian Videogame Awards

Canadian Video Game AwardsThe Canadian Videogame Awards (CVAs) is pleased to announce celebrated videogame actor Mark Meer as the new host for the 5th annual ceremony, taking place November 21st at The Carlu in the heart of downtown Toronto.  Mark Meer is a Canadian actor that has appeared in several world-class videogames, including the Mass Effect franchise, the Dragon Age franchise and the highly anticipated 2014 release, The Long Dark.
