Canada Media Fund Contributes Almost 7 Million Dollars To 30 Innovative Projects

Canada Media FundThe Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today a contribution of more than $6.7M in development and marketing support to innovative digital media projects as part of the first round of its 2014-2015 Experimental Stream funding. In July 2014, the CMF announced a contribution of more than $12.6M to 25 projects that received production support. Since 2010, the CMF has contributed $44.5M in development and marketing support to 204 interactive digital media projects as part of the Experimental Stream. Read the rest of this entry »

SIGGRAPH 2014 Releases Emerging Technologies Preview

siggraph 2014SIGGRAPH 2014, 10-14 August, has released its list of 2014 Emerging Technologies highlights to be featured at this year?s conference at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Out of almost 90 submissions to the program, 24 were accepted, with more than 20 pieces from submitters outside of the United States. Each year, SIGGRAPH-selected emerging technologies allow conference attendees to play with the latest interactive and graphics developments. The program also presents demonstrations of research in several fields — like displays, input devices, collaborative environments, and robotics — through Talks and a close partnership with the SIGGRAPH Studio. Local Tech And Art Showcased As BC Hosts SIGGRAPH 2014

siggraph 2014Minister of Technology, Innovation and Citizens’ Services Andrew Wilkinson has released a video that highlights SIGGRAPH 2014, the world’s foremost computer graphics and art conference coming to the Vancouver Convention Centre August 10-14, 2014. Over 15,000 artists, programmers, filmmakers, computer scientists, animators, game designers and others involved in computer graphics, film making, video games and hardware will be in Vancouver over the four days of the conference.
