Ninety filmmaking teams from across Canada applied to CineCoup with a two-minute trailer as part of the CineCoup Film Accelerator: a disruptive new model for indie filmmakers to develop, market and finance their feature films. Over the course of 15 weeks, they have advanced through a competitive selection funnel by completing tough weekly missions that are designed to package their projects and build audience support on the CineCoup social web platform. A major report released today by Canada’s Science, Technology and Innovation Council (STIC) has concluded that Canada continues to tread water as a mid-level performer in science, technology, and innovation (STI) and is calling for Canada to aim higher and aspire for global leadership on key STI measures. Following today’s announcement by Microsoft for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, Ubisoft revealed that two of its most highly-anticipated titles – Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and Watch Dogs – will be available on the platform later this year. Amazon.ca today announced the launch of Amazon Cloud Drive on Amazon.ca. Customers in Canada can now easily upload and securely store all of their digital files in the Amazon Cloud, and access them using Cloud Drive for Windows and Mac, or from any web browser. Customers can also use Cloud Drive Photos for Android or iOS devices to store, share and access photos from their Android phones or tablets and iPhones or iPod touch devices. The staff at WarioWare, Inc., are working with their fearless leader, Wario, to create his new Wii U game, Game & Wario – a game that can only be described as incredible, amazing, stupendous … and a bunch of other adjectives! To help Wario achieve his dream of funding this awesome game by his target launch date of June 23, he has created his own special crowdsourcing site called Crowdfarter.com. Here, visitors “donate coins” to the game by “liking” the site and daily updates from Wario via Facebook or by tweeting them to the masses on Twitter.
