Canada Media Fund And RioFilme Announce Codevelopment Incentive

Canada Media FundToday at RioContent Market the Canada Media Fund (CMF) and RioFilme announced an agreement for the two organizations to join efforts to support the codevelopment of television projects and related digital media content. The incentive’s budget is set at CAD $300,000, with each funding partner investing half of the total amount. The incentive will take the form of a non-repayable contribution of up to 75% of a project’s eligible costs, up to a per-project maximum of CAD $50,000 per funding partner. Writer’s Guild Of Canada Announces Screenwriting Awards Finalists

Writer's Guild of CanadaThe Writers Guild of Canada has announced the finalists for the 18th annual WGC Screenwriting Awards. The WGC Screenwriting Awards will celebrate the excellence of Canada’s best screenwriters with a gala event on April 28, 2014, at Toronto’s Koerner Hall. This year, more than 190 scripts were nominated for awards in seven categories, with 30 chosen as finalists. In total, 50 screenwriters are up for awards. Support For Media Arts And Art Films In Montréal

Government of CanadaThe Government of Canada has is providing $90,000 through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund for the 32nd edition of the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA), which will take place from March 20 to 30. Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Shelly Glover made the announcement today. These funds will allow FIFA to present the world’s best media arts productions and art films. The Media Arts section will present a number of experimental art films. In addition to the screening of films and videos, there will be conferences, roundtables, and the production of a catalogue. Nominees Revealed For Game Connection America 2014′s Selected Projects

game connection europeGame Connection has unveiled the list of yet unsigned game projects nominated for the prestigious American Selected Projects 2014. Competition was fierce this year with more than 200 submitted projects. On the morning of 17th March at the Selected Projects Awards Ceremony, each of the 15 nominees will have 5 minutes to pitch their project in front of all publishers, distributors and buyers at Game Connection America. The jury will then award 2014′s “Overall Best Project” from amongst the hugely impressive and varied, international array of entries – based on presentation quality, project innovation and market potential. The accolade of “Overall Best Project” is sponsored by Namco Bandai Games, while Microsoft Studios supports the “Best Console & PC Hardcore” Category.
