Immersed Conference Makes Toronto Shine as Virtual Reality and Emerging Technologies Grab Hold

immersedOrganized by The Immersive Technology Alliance (The ITA), Immersed will foster new businesses and talent in the realms of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), stereoscopic 3D, gesture technology and more. Hosted in Toronto, Ontario on Sunday November 23rd and Monday November 24th, Immersed will feature two full days of sessions, plus training and networking opportunities with potential investors and immersive technology experts from around the world.

Combined with access to the investment community, Immersed will give attendees the skills and tools needed to get their ideas off the ground. Technology makers are embracing this because resources and expertise for content means stronger product sales and viability. Immersed will also feature a training stream for professionals working to enhance their career and skills in industries such as VR, AR, 3D and more. Subject matter will cover everything from immersive games to Hollywood cinema.

“This isn’t just a conference! For professionals, this is an opportunity to learn from the best. For those new to the market, this is a way to get a head start by building the valuable relationships and expertise needed to succeed in this industry. Immersed is a catalyst for accomplishing some amazing things,” said Neil Schneider, Executive Director of The Immersive Technology Alliance. Founding Partners of Immersed are the Canada Media Fund and The Ontario Centres of Excellence.

“You can read about augmented and virtual reality, but you need to experience it to truly grasp why there is so much excitement around this. We want the public to come down and try this for themselves,” said Schneider. The exhibit area will be accessible by the public on the Sunday afternoon, and free tickets can be reserved online.

Taking place at the upscale 99 Sudbury in Toronto, Immersed features a growing lineup of international speakers from Canada, the USA, and Europe featuring John Gaeta, Creative Director for New Media and Experiences at Lucasfilm – the man behind the “Bullet-Time” effect of “The Matrix” fame.
