                 Montreal-born actress Emily Hampshire (Schitt’s Creek, 12 Monkeys) has been signed to come back to Syfy’s 12 Monkeys for its second season as a series regular.  Hampshire plays Jennifer Goines the role previously portrayed by Brad Pitt in the film version, a recurring role in the first season .                  Telefilm Canada has revealed details regarding the course it intends to follow over the next few years, as set out in its strategic plan for 2015 to 2018. This morning in Ottawa, the Chair of Telefilm’s Board, Michel Roy, unveiled Telefilm’s strategic plan during a speech he delivered at Prime Time in Ottawa, an event organized by the Canadian Media Production Association. The plan, titled Inspired by Talent. Viewed Everywhere. (PDF), updates Telefilm’s commitment to support the industry so it can connect with target viewers on all screens, in Canada and elsewhere. The plan also defines how Telefilm aims to help the industry take on the challenges of the digital age at a time when fundamental changes are transforming the way audiovisual content is produced, distributed and consumed. A total of 27 CMF-funded productions won 51 Canadian Screen Awards, including top winners such as Call Me Fitz, Degrassi, Sensitive Skin, Tales from the Organ Trade, Bomb Girls, and the Fan’s Choice Award, Lost Girl.                  British Columbia is expanding the Digital Animation or Visual Effects tax credit to post-production activities, and extending the Interactive Digital Media tax credit to 2018, Minister of Finance Michael de Jong announced today with the introduction of Balanced Budget 2015. As promised, the Digital Animation or Visual Effects (DAVE) tax credit will apply to labour expenditures on eligible post-production activities for productions where principal photography begins on or after March 1, 2015. This competition will grant one winner currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution the opportunity showcase their game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles this coming June as part of an all-expense paid trip.
