via DigiBC: Introduced in 2010, the Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit legislation is set to phase out in 2015 pending a review by the BC government in late 2014. Our DigiBC survey indicates that from 2009 to 2013, 1,700 new jobs have been created and the industry has expanded to 5,700 direct jobs working in 142 companies in the video games sector. We estimate the government has paid over $100 million in cash based tax credits which have in turn resulted in a tax surplus of $135 million to the BC government. It is essential that the Interactive Digital Media tax Credit is extended at a minimum and better if it is enhanced if we want to become number one in Canada again. Frima Studio has announced that couch co-op platformer Chariot will arrive on PlayStation 4 on September 30, 2014 in North America and October 22, 2014 in EU territories. It will launch worldwide for Xbox One on October 1, 2014, with launch dates for Wii U and Steam to be revealed soon. In Chariot, a princess and her fiancé descend through the royal catacombs in order to find a burial place worthy of His Majesty.
