Intertainment Media To Bid For Poynt Assets And Sell Stake In ItiBiti

intertainment mediaIntertainment Media Inc. has announced that the company has entered into an agreement with an unnamed, well funded Toronto-based technology company to collectively bid for the assets of Poynt Corporation. The group is prepared to enter a cash bid together with Intertainment’s secured lender’s position valued at CDN $1.7 Million. At this point, the deadline for submission of the bid is November 29, 2012. If the group is successful in its bid to acquire Poynt’s assets, Intertainment and its partner will provide additional details on their relationship and go forward plans. Trulioo Nabs Google’s Identity Chief As New CTO

Vancouver-based identity verification startup Trulioo has announced that the company has raised two million dollars in seed funding from Blumberg Capital, and recruited Google’s Director of Identity Andrew Nash as their Chief Technical Officer. Trulioo’s “ProfilePlus” product was released in beta today, assisting websites that already utilize Facebook Connect detect fake accounts. ProfilePlus is a free SaaS product, and leverages Trulioo’s patented algorithms to analyze a user’s Facebook account and provide a score indicating how much time it would take to create the account.
