Wavefront Joins BCIC Acceleration Network And Launches Venture Acceleration Program

wavefrontWavefront, Canada’s Centre of Excellence for Wireless Commercialization and Research, has signed an agreement with the British Columbia Innovation Council (BCIC) to deliver the Venture Acceleration Program, a BCIC Acceleration Network program supported by the BC Innovation Council. The BCIC Acceleration Network is a province-wide alliance of regional partners collaborating in the delivery of a structured program – the Venture Acceleration Program – to accelerate the growth of early stage technology companies in BC. Intertainment Media To Bid For Poynt Assets And Sell Stake In ItiBiti

intertainment mediaIntertainment Media Inc. has announced that the company has entered into an agreement with an unnamed, well funded Toronto-based technology company to collectively bid for the assets of Poynt Corporation. The group is prepared to enter a cash bid together with Intertainment’s secured lender’s position valued at CDN $1.7 Million. At this point, the deadline for submission of the bid is November 29, 2012. If the group is successful in its bid to acquire Poynt’s assets, Intertainment and its partner will provide additional details on their relationship and go forward plans. Canadians Would Give Up Coffee, Video Games and TV Before Parting With Their Smartphones

wind mobileIf necessary many Canadians would give up coffee or video games before saying goodbye to their smartphones, according to the results of a national survey released today by WIND Mobile. Thirty-seven percent of Canadian mobile phone owners aged 18-34 say they would give up video games before walking away from their devices, while 36 percent say they would be willing to quit drinking coffee rather than lose their phones.
