Toronto-based mobile payment company Digital Retail Apps is introducing a patent-pending, mobile self-­payment system that allows a customer to perform secure, in-aisle shopping and self-checkout from anywhere within a brick and mortar store at the National Retail Federation Expo going on in New York. Bell Media announced today its designation as an official lead partner of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television‘s inaugural Canadian Screen Awards. Canadian Screen Week, the annual celebration of excellence in Canadian film, television, and digital media productions, begins in Toronto on February 27 and culminates in a televised award broadcast on March 3, 2013. The Canadian Internet Registration Authority, the organization that manages the .CA Internet domain, now supports the use of all French characters in .CA domain names, allowing Canadians to register their .CAs correctly in both official languages for the first time. Robots and Pencils, developers of hit games like “Catch The Princess” and “Spy vs Spy,” have announced that their latest release, “Sasquatch“, is now available for iOS devices. “Sasquatch” is a location-hunting photo game named for the legendary creature where players snap pictures of their locations, and then challenge friends or fellow Sasquatchers around the world to guess their location. The game also features a casual gameplay style utilizing a turn by turn approach, promising a traditional quick reflex game mode in the future. Sasquatch aids players with a number of perks, making guesses a little less tricky.The game also integrates with Facebook to instantly make connections and is also playable with an email address.
