That’s why during Crime Prevention Week (November 1-7), the Province’s Ministry of Justice is sharing with B.C. families some of the best ways to protect kids from being bullied online. Cyber-bullying is a complex problem that comes in many forms and is constantly evolving as technology changes. The giant Xbox One I told you about earlier this week powered up last evening (I was at work beating the quarterly Fuel Tax report into submission and couldn’t make the event) and onlookers at the corner of Nelson and Seymour in Vancouver were witness to a seasonal treat – a live action appearance of new character Nick Ramos from Capcom Vancouver‘s upcoming Dead Rising 3 title and a horde of zombies. The defending crowd was armed with an array of weapons to beat back the horde and they did just that, and they did it with gusto! In the spirit of Halloween, Dead Rising 3 also released a new trailer to celebrate. The trailer encapsulates the reckless carnage of the hotly anticipated open-world zombie action game. The first interactive story experience to generate a physical object, Body/Mind/Change, a TIFF and Canadian Film Centre’s Media Lab (CFC Media Lab) co-production starring David Cronenberg, is now open for adventurers who want to explore the plausible science fiction found in Cronenberg’s films as fact.  Follow the master’s lead on the Body/Mind/Change site to create a next generation bio-tech recommendation engine, called Personal-On-Demand (POD). Body/Mind/Change provides an opportunity for participants to explore the dark landscape where David Cronenberg’s stories live and experience first-hand the emotional steps involved in merging with technology to transform and evolve oneself. Game Connection Europe has unveiled the list of yet unsigned game projects nominated for the prestigious European Selected Projects 2013 Awards. On the morning of 3rd December at the Selected Projects Awards Ceremony, each of the 15 nominees will have 5 minutes to pitch their project in front of all the publishers, distributors and buyers at Game Connection Europe. The jury will then award 2013’s Overall Best Project from amongst the hugely impressive and varied, international array of entries – based on presentation quality, project innovation and market potential. Once the final selection has been made, the winners will be presented with their prizes by official sponsors of the Selected Projects program, Sony XDEV Studio Europe, Microsoft Studios and Namco Bandai Games.
