Creative BC Announces Slate 2.0 Development Fund

BC Film And MediaCreative BC will provide BC-based film or television entertainment companies with an envelope of money to support the development of two or more eligible film, television or digital media projects in the form of a non-recoupable development advance of up to $50,000. The fund is intended to leverage investment from the private sector, develop a presence in the international marketplace, and encourage development, production and marketing strategies which address new opportunities in digital media and online. Creative BC Announces Digital Media Funding

BC Film And MediaThe Interactive Fund is a program created in partnership between Creative BC and the BC Arts Council. The program is intended to support the production of high quality, original, interactive digital media content and software applications owned and controlled by BC companies or individuals. The funding is a non-recoupable advance of up to $50,000 and does not require matching funding or market support to trigger eligibility. Canadian Research Knowledge Network Appoints New Chair of the Board of Directors

BC Recreation Sites And Trails Join Geo-caching Craze

In recognition of their 20th anniversary, Backroad Mapbooks has developed a GeoTour program to celebrate and promote Canada’s beautiful backcountry. The GeoTour is based on the popular recreation activity of ‘geo-caching’ – a modern-day treasure hunt that uses GPS co-ordinates to locate containers (called caches) and collect ‘treasures’ in a specific area or along a specific route. Twitter Town Hall: Cutting Red Tape For Small Businesses

Province of BCAs a lead up to Small Business Month in October, the B.C. government and the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) are asking for input from the small business community to identify their top priorities for cutting red tape in the province. This Friday, September 27, join Minister of State for Tourism and Small Business Naomi Yamamoto, who will co-host a noon-hour Twitter Town Hall with Laura Jones, CFIB EVP. The town hall is one way the Province is reaching out to small businesses to help identify challenges, cut red tape and improve access to government services.
