The refocused NRC will work with Canadian industries to bridge technology gaps, helping build a more innovative Canadian economy. For close to 100 years, NRC has been the primary federal vehicle for R&D performer and has engaged the world’s most pressing challenges. QuickMobile, a Vancouver-based provider of mobile event app solutions, has closed a $3.2 million round of funding led by existing investors, BDC IT Venture Fund and Vancity. The infusion of capital will allow QuickMobile to add the resources required to meet the unprecedented demand for its new multi-event mobile app platform and continue its international expansion. This funding follows $2.6 million of equity investments received in 2011 from angel investors and Vancity, and a $3.3 million round led by BDC IT Venture Fund in 2012.
