Independent online games developer Funcom has announced that it is working closely with NVIDIA for Funcom’s upcoming modern-day massively multiplayer online game ‘The Secret World’. Late yesterday, on the eve of International Missing Children’s Day, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection is launched a new service called MissingKidsALERT and released preliminary results from first-of-its kind research into Canada’s abducted and murdered children. An initiative of MissingKids.ca, MissingKidsALERT is a new public notification service that allows Canadians to sign up to receive geographically targeted alerts through a variety of electronic platforms when a child in their community goes missing. Global leisure giant Merlin Entertainments (Merlin), the world’s second biggest visitor attraction operator, announced today plans to build the company’s first ever attraction in Canada – a $12M LEGOLAND Discovery Centre (LDC). The Canadian Forces Personnel and Family Support Services (CFPFSS) is set to release a fundraising album, Sound of Freedom, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 (Willow Music / EMI Music Canada). Proceeds from the album will be assigned to the Support Our Troops Fund. The album features a unique collaboration between musician members of the Canadian Forces, and civilian singers featuring Alexandria Beck, Alan Frew, Mark Masri, Luke McMaster and Annie Villeneuve. The band is appropriately titled, MARCH ON. Produced by Glass Tiger’s Sam Reid, Sound of Freedom was recorded largely at the Canadian Forces Central Band Studio in Ottawa and at Newmarket, Ontario’s SlipOne Digital in 2010 and 2011.
