Thunderbird Films recently announced the appointment of Canadian media executive Ivan Fecan as consultant and Chairman of their Board. Fecan brings with him an extensive resume which boasts titles including VP Creative Affairs at NBC, Head of English TV at CBC, and CEO and President of CTVglobemedia. This announcement preceded the news late this afternoon that Thunderbird had also acquired Vancouver’s Reunion Pictures, the studio behind Showcase’s Continuum TV series. Calgary’s Sage Board Games has announced the release of Reiner Knizia’s Tigris & Euphrates onto iOS and now Google Play. Tigris & Euphrates is one of the most well-known board games in the genre, having won the prestigious 1997 Meeples’ Choice Award, 1998 Deutscher Spiele Preis Best Family/Adult Game Winner and 1998 Spiel des Jahres Recommended. Intertainment Media Inc. announced today that it has executed its arms length agreement to sell its itiBiti and Ad Taffy technology platforms to a Toronto based, private technology company (Itibiti Ventures Inc.) for a total estimated value of CDN $ 3,425,000 million dollars which includes debt conversion, perpetual revenue share payments secured by the transferred assets in the amount of $3 million dollars and a 40% equity stake in the company acquiring the assets. This transaction will also provide additional equity value in the form of system development and product / program enhancements. Intertainment has also included Ad Taffy in the agreement given Ad Taffy’s dependence on the shared technology of itiBiti, allowing both products to potentially flourish under a combined and dedicated independent management team. The Knowledge Network is looking for short films about Nelson and the Kootenays, so they’re awarding $30,000 to filmmakers who pitch the best stories. The network is looking for a series of short (2-3 minutes in length) historical documentaries to be created from still photographs – archival, historical and even personal photos – centred around the Kootenays region.
