triOS College has announced the launch of its new weekend video game camps, aimed at getting students excited and informed about what it takes to design and develop a video game.  These two-days camps run out of the triOS College Toronto and Kitchener campuses on select weekends from May 25 to August 24, 2013, with potentially more dates to be added. Video game enthusiasts will be able to choose from two different camps: “Learning to make Games with Gamemaker” for ages 11-14 and “Game Development with Unity 3D” for ages 15-17.  Interested participants can get details and register online. The Canada Media Fund (CMF) congratulates all winners at the NUMIX Awards, which were presented yesterday evening at a gala held at Club Soda in Montréal. The NUMIX Awards recognize excellence in Québec-based multimedia productions and showcase the quality and creative talent of Québec’s digital media companies. The CMF, with its objective of promoting innovation in the digital media industry by providing financial support for productions with original content, was the event’s principal partner for the third consecutive year. The prestigious internationally-recognized Awards program celebrates nominees in 26 categories, spanning multiple genres including Fiction, Non-Fiction, Kids & Animation and Interactive.  The Rockies Program Competition celebrates the “best of the best” in international television and digital media content. In advance of its upcoming Upfront Presentation, CTV announced today its latest pick-up for the 2013/2014 broadcast season with a second season order of its original drama series Motive (@MotiveTV). The #1 new Canadian series of the year, CTV has ordered an additional 13 episodes for the series’ second season from Vancouver-based Foundation Features and Lark Productions. Production is set to begin this summer. The announcement comes with just one episode remaining before Motive’s first-season finale next Thursday, May 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV Mobile.
