An airstream, a husky and a Yeti have all the makings of a unique road trip as writer/director Jeff Kopas can attest to. With recent stops in Toronto, Ottawa and Winnipeg, Kopas’ first feature film, An Insignificant Harvey, will continue on its Canadian tour with its Vancouver premiere on December 2nd at the Empire Granville 7 Cinermas. Traveling in an airstream trailer similar to one lived in by the film’s main character, Kopas has taken the film’s star husky Inca to locations across the country where the film will be screened. The Société du Palais des congrès de Montréal is pleased to confirm that Just For Laughs will produce the first ever Montréal Video World Games in 2013, along with a special preview presentation in 2012. Scheduled to coincide with the peak of tourism season, this large-scale project aims to become a recurring event of international calibre that will attract over 50,000 participants from the general public, as well as 2,000 industry participants. The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) announced yesterday that four students from Brandon University in Manitoba – Stephanie Fung, Jeanette Hudon, Stephen Chychota and Kayvon Razzaghi – have been selected as the national champions of the YOU Innovate Canada tournament held in celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week. Their team, The Grow Mug Project, was selected as the national champion from among the 13 regional champions.
