Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Enterprises and U.S. toy company The Bridge Direct are teaming up for the launch of Pinkie Cooper and the Jet Set Pets™. This summer will see the launch of the Pinkie Cooper toy line, a unique range of dolls and accessories -fashion dolls with a canine twist. In support of the toy launch, Nelvana will develop and create all Pinkie Cooper digital content including original webisodes, a new Pinkie Cooper website, several apps and all social media marketing for the launch. Nelvana will also oversee the consumer product merchandising and marketing plans associated with the brand going forward. Fall gets an early start in August on Corus Entertainment’s YTV with a jam-packed line-up of brand new series, home-grown originals and returning favourites. Viewers will be treated to new animated and live action series that add even more laughs and wacky comedy to YTV’s 2013 fall schedule. iCarly and Victorious fans will rejoice when three of their favourite stars return to the screen in the highly anticipated August premieres of Nickelodeon’s Sam & Cat, a crossover spin-off series starring Nickelodeon’s funny gals Jennette McCurdy (iCarly) and Ariana Grande (Victorious), and Wendell & Vinnie featuring iCarly’s hilariously funny Jerry Trainor on Monday nights. A jury of nine renowned individuals in the digital media sphere met in Toronto yesterday and today to evaluate innovative Canadian digital media projects that applied for production support from the Canada Media Fund’s Experimental Stream. The goal of the jury is to provide an external perspective on innovation as well as assess the experience of the production and creative teams with regards to their capacity to deliver the project. Ubisoft announced the launch of Watch Dogs’ WeareData, an experiential website designed to gather and graph the publicly available data that govern people’s lives in a single location. WeareData is initially available for the cities of Berlin, London and Paris. In Watch Dogs, the highly anticipated open world action game from Ubisoft, the fictionalized city of Chicago is run by a Central Operating System (CTOS), linking all of the city’s online infrastructures and public security installations to one centralized hub. CTV cleared two more teams today for takeoff for The Amazing Race Canada, the hottest competition series of the summer. Hosted by Olympic Champion Jon Montgomery (@jrmonty12), the next two teams joining seven others at the starting line in the awe-inspiring, all-Canadian race around the country are married “Body Break” fitness icons Hal and Joanne, from Oakville and Holly and Brett, married doctors from Montreal, who are as sharp as scalpels and have studied The Race for years. Previously announced teams include dating couple Kristen and Darren, brothers Jody and Cory, twins Treena and Tennille, and two sets of best friends – Jet and Dave, and Jamie and Pierre. All teams will compete for the historic half a million dollar grand prize with the final two pairings announced tomorrow (June 27).
