The Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) has announced the full list of nominees for its annual Rockies Program Competition. The prestigious internationally-recognized Awards program celebrates nominees in 26 categories, spanning multiple genres including Fiction, Non-Fiction, Kids & Animation and Interactive.  The Rockies Program Competition celebrates the “best of the best” in international television and digital media content. In advance of its upcoming Upfront Presentation, CTV announced today its latest pick-up for the 2013/2014 broadcast season with a second season order of its original drama series Motive (@MotiveTV). The #1 new Canadian series of the year, CTV has ordered an additional 13 episodes for the series’ second season from Vancouver-based Foundation Features and Lark Productions. Production is set to begin this summer. The announcement comes with just one episode remaining before Motive’s first-season finale next Thursday, May 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV Mobile. Conquer Mobile, a Vancouver-based developer of secure enterprise workforce apps, joined Sanotron’s recent Hacking Health event and swept up awards with eBeeper, a breakthrough mobile app for Emergency Departments. The Sanotron Hacking Health event in Vancouver attracted over 200 people and assembled over 30 projects, to innovate health technology and complete for prizes. The start-up companies will pitch their new business ideas to an expert business panel on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at the annual Innovator Idol competition.
