Bill And Sons Towing Goes Mobile on iOS

movie orbyBill & Sons Towing, the ten?part comedic web series, is making its next stop on Apple devices as independent production company Ready, Set, Panic launches a dedicated app on the App Store. Bill & Sons Towing: The App brings users into the fictional and funny digital world of the father-son towing company. The dysfunctional family at the heart of this series debuted on YouTube earlier this year, featuring the dark depravity of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia with the emotional heart of Modern Family. It stars Canadian Comedy Award-winning sketch troupe The Imponderables and a host of Canadian talent including Gemini Award-winners Nicholas Campbell, Sonja Smits and Jayne Eastwood.Bill And Sons Towing

Users can watch all 10 episodes through the Bill & Sons branded app, including a series of video podcasts, behind-?the-?scenes and family photos, along with cast, character and crew biographies. Also available is direct access to the Bill & Sons Towing toll-free customer service hotline, a fun interactive feature that lets you leave a message about your car troubles, and those messages will also be made accessible to all users.

“The Bill & Sons Towing app is a great way to experience the series as a digital box set,” said executive producer Charles Ketchabaw. “Fans and new viewers now have access to all the web series content in one package that’s just a touch away.”

For every person who downloads and rates the app, Ready, Set, Panic will also donate $1 to McMaster Children’s Hospital for the month of October. The Hamilton, Ontario-based hospital is one of Canada’s leading pediatric health care facilities and is the regional referral centre for children who are seriously ill, injured or require specialized services in south-central Ontario.

The app for Apple devices (iPhone and iPod Touch) was developed by interactive producer Shawn Bailey. Bill and Sons Towing was funded through the Independent Production Fund  and through the Ontario Media Development Corporation.

Editor’s Note: I do have one small concern – the app is rated 4+ on iTunes, but the content of the Bill And Sons Towing episodes are definitely not meant for the younger set. Due to very strong language, I would caution those parents with young children to not allow the kids access to this app.
