A new poll of 400 Canadian business leaders by Queen’s School of Business reveals decidedly mixed feelings about social media.  While four in ten (39 per cent) bosses say social media is something they need to use—whether they want to or not —close to an equal number (35 per cent) say they use it heavily because it’s a good opportunity for the business, with the remaining 24 per cent saying it doesn’t add any value. Visa Canada is launching a dynamic educational video game called Money Metropolis that teaches youth the basics of setting financial goals, earning, saving, and prudent spending. The game, which Visa will officially launch in both French and English during the Conference of Montreal for the International Economic Forum of the Americas, targets youth aged 7-12 and is a creative way to encourage kids to think about finances. Astral’s Disney XD and Disney Junior have commissioned two Canadian original productions for the 2012/2013 season. Disney Junior has commissioned the animated shorts Yub Yubs from Radical Sheep Productions (Stella & Sam) for both its English and French language networks, while Disney XD has ordered its first original movie from Fresh TV (Humans vs Vampires) with the live-action film Bunks.
