Sony Reader Digital Book Models Now Available Online
Toronto – Sony Canada today announced its Reader Digital Book models PRS-505 and PRS-700 are now available for purchase online at BestBuy.ca and futureshop.ca.
“Sony is at the forefront of the digital reading revolution in Canada,” said Ron Wilson, senior vice president of merchandising, Best Buy Canada Ltd. “Canadian customers are looking for the best digital reading technology available and the Sony Reader Digital Book models are easy-to-use with great functionality. Best Buy and Future Shop are always looking to bring Canadians the latest technology and with the growing popularity of digital reading this product is a great addition to our line-up.”
With a compact and lightweight design, the Reader Digital Book is the perfect way to carry all of your favorite books with you wherever you go. And with plenty of internal memory and a slot for optional removable memory cards, you can take hundreds of titles, user-selected web content or other supported documents for reading on the go.
The Reader Digital Book models feature high-resolution, high contrast electronic paper display technology which provides a reading experience very much akin to ink-on-paper. The result is crisp text and graphics that are readable even in bright sunlight. For times when ambient light is not available, Sony is the first to offer a built-in LED reading light (PRS-700).
The Reader models use minimal power and can sustain up to 7,500 pages of continuous reading on a single battery charge. They support multiple file formats for eBooks, personal documents and music. With the included eBook Library 2.0 PC software, you can easily transfer Adobe PDF documents with reflow capability, Microsoft Word documents, BBeB files and other text file
formats to the Reader. The devices can store and display EPUB files and work with Adobe Digital Editions software, opening them up to almost a limitless quantity of content.
