Poynt Corporation  has announced that the Poynt Platform has surpassed the 11 million user milestone. In addition an aggregate of 2.1 billion interactions have been recorded by Poynt users globally. The increase in users and interactions has been a catalyst for the Company’s revenue growth. Over the past twelve month period, the Platform has experienced 158% growth in its user base. Library and Archives Canada (LAC), the Canadian Urban Libraries Council and the Canadian War Museum are contributing to Remembrance Week commemorations with an expanded collaborative agreement for the delivery of Lest We Forget workshops across Canada. These workshops allow students to research primary source documents by looking through the military service files of Canadian soldiers, doctors or nurses who served in the First World War or who were killed in action in the Second World War. The Canadian War Museum has launched a free mobile application that invites iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users anywhere in the world on an interactive tour of over two dozen of the Museum’s most notable features and artifacts. Owners of these popular handheld devices can use the mobile application to obtain one-stop access to information about the Canadian War Museum from anywhere in the world. The tour showcases 28 Museum features and artifacts, including objects that bring to life some of the monumental events in Canada’s military history. Shaw Communications has announced the next generation of Canada’s fastest Internet, with the launch of the nation’s first 100 Gigabit per second (Gbit/s) fibre-optic network. The network, delivered by Alcatel-Lucent, has the capability of carrying up to eighty-eight 100 Gbit/s channels over a single pair of fibres.
