Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Steven Blaney, Member of Parliament for Lévis-Bellechasse and Minister of Veterans Affairs, today announced the awarding of financial assistance from the Government of Canada to Creaform Inc. These funds will enable the firm to commercialize its innovative 3D optical metrology products to manufacturing companies.
“The economy and job creation are key priorities for the Government of Canada,” said Minister Blaney. “This financial contribution to Creaform illustrates our firm commitment to supporting enterprises that are putting strategies in place to expand their markets, particularly through export, and are thereby creating wealth and prosperity in their regions.”
Established in 2002 in Lévis, Creaform Inc. is a world-scale technology company specializing in 3D digital solutions. Since its founding, the dynamic enterprise has grown to become a global leader in its field. Offering turnkey solutions and technical support to clients operating primarily in the aerospace, automotive and health sectors, Creaform is helping further the growth and international reputation of the optics-photonics industry, a major force in the greater Québec economy.
Creaform is looking to expand into metrology-the science of measurement-and, to that end, plans to produce promotional materials, carry out advertising campaigns in specialty media sources and take part in more than 20 commercial fairs.
This support, granted in the form of a $500,000 repayable financial contribution, has been awarded under Canada Economic Development’s Business and Regional Growth program.
