Primus Telecommunications Canada Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of PTGi (Primus Telecommunications Group, Incorporated), has announced that its VoIP services are now available in an additional 240 exchanges across Canada, specifically in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec. The move makes it simple for more Canadian businesses and consumers to access communications services that deliver reliable and flexible connections with premium features at an affordable price.
The expansion is part of the company’s continued investment to bring Canadians greater access and choice. As the Canadian population grows and metropolitan areas expand, consumers and businesses in these growing areas are looking for advanced technology, lower costs, and access to the same services as the major urban hubs. This expansion is designed to meet these needs.
“Over the last three years, tens of thousands of businesses and consumers have selected Primus VoIP services which are feature-rich, and designed to drive cost savings and productivity improvements,” said AJ Byers, Executive Vice President, Primus Business Services, “With today’s expansion of our footprint by 240 exchanges, approximately four million more Canadians have expanded choice in services so they too can realize greater value for their money.”
With the evolution of VoIP technology there has been a huge adoption of these feature-rich services by businesses and consumers. “Today, over 50 per cent of Primus business customers are choosing IP-based technology for their telephony services,” stated AJ Byers.
Primus Home Phone customers can save up to $60 per month compared to current offerings by traditional phone companies, with plans starting at $9.99 per month.
Primus business customers can expect to save over 40 per cent on their monthly communication bills versus existing traditional telephone services. Primus provides choice with fully hosted phone systems, SIP Trunking services and other Voice over IP solutions for as little as $7.95 per month.
Wholesale customers in these new exchanges will be able to access a wide range of services connecting to Primus’ national and international footprint.
