The Visual Effects Society Vancouver Section along with the Vancouver Economic Commission and the HR Screen Council Board are pleased to announce the date for the 2nd Annual VES Vancouver Career Fair at the Vancouver Convention Centre West Building. The Career Fair doors will be open from 11:00am through 4:00pm on Saturday, April 20th, with students welcome to attend after 2:00pm. Last year the VES Vancouver Job Fair hosted 1200 attendees and 20 exhibitors. This year the space has been expanded to accommodate over 30 exhibitors. Wiggles 3D Games has announced the launch of their new mobile game, Lexigo for iOS devices. Based on the studio’s tabletop game Lexigo, the Lexigo app is built for 2 to 4 players, combining spelling challenges with strategy. Players use six-sided tiles to spell words in a twisty path, enabling the ability to move in six different directions – you can even backtrack to use letters more than once in the same word. And the rest of the report card doesn’t get much better, as Canada ranks 13^th in the 16-country How Canada Performs benchmarking.

HootSuite has announced accelerated growth in the first quarter of 2013. The company’s dramatic growth was largely driven by increased demand among large global organizations. This growth translated into a 272% increase in corporate sales (companies valued at less than $10 billion) in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and an impressive 900% increase in international strategic sales (companies valued at over $10 billion). This year, no blanks shall remain unfilled as The Comedy Network orders a second season of the retro-classic comedy game show Match Game from FremantleMedia. Set to shoot for the first time in Toronto this summer, another 60 episodes of the half-hour comedy series have been ordered. Produced in association with Montreal’s Zone3, Season 2 of Match Game premieres exclusively on Comedy this fall. Oshawa-born stand-up Darrin Rose is back for another round as host, and is again joined by wisecracking regular panellists Canadian comedy legend Seán Cullen, and beloved stand-up Debra DiGiovanni.
