CDMN Announces 2013 Moonshot Award Winners

CDMNThe Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN) has announced the winners of the inaugural CDMN Moonshot Awards. The four winning Canadian digital media companies were honoured at CDMN’s Canada 3.0 conference, taking place today and tomorrow at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The Awards, presented in four categories, were developed to recognize Canadian companies that create jobs and wealth for Canada through innovation in digital media. Propulsion – Using LEGO Blocks To Help Young Students Stay Motivated In School

WB Games MontrealOver a thousand young students from underprivileged communities in 23 elementary schools of the Pointe-de-l’Île and Montreal School Boards took part in the third edition of Propulsion, an innovative and unique program designed to encourage student retention through compelling educational projects. The results of their efforts were officially unveiled today at the WB Games Montréal studio. Based on a “learning through play” approach, this year’s project was aimed at Grade 4 to 6 students and involved building amusement rides with LEGO blocks. TRTech And CDMN Announce Canada 3.0 In Calgary For 2014

StubHub Canada Partners With Hockey Night In Canada’s Play On

2nd Annual Feminists in Games Workshop – Vancouver

feminists in gamesFem­i­nists in Games, funded by a Cana­dian SSHRC Grant is an endeavor cre­ated with the pur­pose of assem­bling an inter­na­tional research asso­ci­a­tion of dig­i­tal media researchers from a full range of salient dis­ci­plines to begin build­ing ‘con­nec­tive tis­sue’ between and among them, so as to bet­ter under­stand the ori­gins and con­se­quences of this gen­dered dig­i­tal divide, and inter­vene in its reproduction. In the group’s second annual workshop, which will be held at the Centre For Digital Media this May 31st and June 1st, attendees will have two full days of panels, presentations and discussions on issues which impact women in technology and development.
