Along with yesterday’s official Schedule Launch, the Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) also announced that Eileen O’Neill will present a feature address at the 35^th BANFF, being held June 8-11, 2014.  O’Neill is Group President – Discovery Channel, Science Channel and Velocity Networks, responsible for strategic direction at all three networks within the Discovery Communications umbrella.  Discovery Communications is the world’s #1 nonfiction media company, reaching more than two billion cumulative subscribers through 190 networks in over 220 countries and territories worldwide.

Formerly Group President for Discovery Channel, TLC and Discovery Fit & Health, O’Neill oversaw the strategic direction at the three networks including development, programming, production, digital media, marketing, research and communications. In February 2014, O’Neill became the Group President of Discovery Channel, Science Channel and Velocity. O’Neill is a 20-year Discovery veteran, with a proven track record for success. Her bold and innovative moves have led her networks to some of the highest ratings in their history.
