Temple Street Building Production Facility to House Groundbreaking Digital Content Studio

temple street productionsTemple Street Media Ventures (the newly created division of Temple Street Productions) today announces the establishment of an original digital content studio, Boat Rocker Studios.  Working with YouTube, Boat Rocker Studios will foster a campus-like environment for online creators to collaborate, gain expertise, receive business support and produce content that speaks to the new generation of viewers.

The studio will be housed in Temple Street’s newly-acquired 1950’s era, 20,000 sq. ft., Sackville Street building, situated in Toronto’s downtown King St. East area. Boat Rocker Studios (revitalizing what was once a CBC production facility) aims to be both a physical and cultural hub for the online creator community. While Boat Rocker Studios is open for business immediately, the production facility will undergo renovations throughout the fall and will open its doors in the first quarter of 2014.

“Temple Street was built on fostering strong relationships with writers and showrunners and providing them with the best creative and business environment possible,” commented David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, co-presidents of Temple Street Productions. “We are now very excited to be forging similar collaborative partnerships with next-generation creators and to be working with YouTube to support the creation of great new content and to expand ever-growing online audiences.”

“This is great news for the entertainment industry. Temple Street has a long track-record of developing premium content. Their commitment to establishing a first class digital studio in Canada will present exciting new opportunities for the broader creator community.” says Jeremy Butteriss, Director Partnerships Google Canada. “This will create tremendous benefits for Canadian content creators on their quest to make even better videos and build even bigger global audiences on YouTube.”

Temple Street Media Ventures focuses on creating new opportunities and forming new partnerships in the constantly changing media landscape. The new division will accelerate Temple Street’s growth into digital media while building on the company’s creative and business strengths to empower Canada’s emerging talent.
