Wavefront and Innovate Calgary Join Forces

innovate calgary [1]wavefront [2]Wavefront [2], Canada’s Centre of Excellence for Wireless Commercialization and Research, has announced a new partnership with Innovate Calgary [1] that will directly support the growth and commercialization of wireless technology companies in Southern Alberta. As part of this partnership, Wavefront will offer valuable programs and services to Innovate Calgary member companies including:

In addition, Wavefront will offer Innovate Calgary’s professional services and consulting programs to its members, with funding support available through the Wavefront Accelerated Program with NRC-IRAP. Wavefront and Innovate Calgary will also partner on joint industry events and training programs covering the latest wireless technologies and business opportunities.

Peter Garrett, President of Innovate Calgary explains, “We are excited to work closely with Wavefront in bringing their valuable programs and services to the companies in our network. This partnership will provide unprecedented access to critical wireless resources and expertise for Alberta-based companies. We look forward to witnessing the growth opportunities that will be realized through our work together.”

Both Innovate Calgary and Wavefront are generating economic impacts for Canada. In 2012, Innovate Calgary clients generated over $296 million in sales creating over 100 new jobs and employing 750 individuals. A recent assessment of Wavefront’s economic impact reveals the creation of nearly 575 jobs across Canada, accelerated time to market by four to six months for wireless companies, and $37 million generated in GDP between 2009-2012.
