Rainmaker Entertainment Inc. announced Friday the dismissal of a lawsuit in respect of alleged profit participation rights on the film Escape from Planet Earth, which was released in theatres on February 15th. Rainmaker and a subsidiary had been named as defendants, along with a number of other parties, in a suit filed in the New York Supreme Court. Rainmaker had previously obtained an indemnity from the copyright owner and the distributor of the film. On February 20, 2013, a Stipulation of Discontinuance was filed with the New York Supreme Court dismissing the litigation against all named parties and a mutual release was executed.
