Institute For International Film Financing Panel On February 21 In Vancouver

mini-orbyIf you have any interest in the BC film industry as a film enthusiast, filmmaker or someone who relies on their income via the film industry and the thousands of jobs it creates annually, then perhaps this event will interest you. The Institute for International Film Financing (IIFF) is holding one of its well known events where the discussion will focus on current and past issues surrounding film and film financing in the local and overseas film industries for both indie and larger scale productions.

The February 21st event, being held at the Tom Lee Music Main Hall on Granville Street, will feature a panel of speakers from all aspects of the industry who will share their thoughts and methods in finding film financing. Event start time is 5:00pm.

One of the named guest speakers is local filmmaker Thomas Newman, who funded his own film and found international distribution once the film was released on DVD by Horizon Motion Pictures. Thomas will discuss how he used innovative free online services, coupled with a smart social media campaign in order to propel his film across the globe and help his film find an international audience.
