A New Look For Canada’s National Sponsorship Conference
Canada’s first national conference for sponsorship marketers has a new name and a new look: Sponsorship Toronto. The Sponsorship Report is proud to have pioneered professional development for sponsorship in Canada. In 1997, it launched Selling Sponsorships: Strategies for Success®, a one-day conference on sponsorship sales.
In 2004, responding to a need for a more strategic look at sponsorship, The Sponsorship Report launched Strategic Sponsorship Marketing: The Canadian Summit®, a two-day national conference that has featured sessions led by some of the world’s most sought-after professionals.
This year, Strategic Sponsorship Marketing: The Canadian Summit® has been rebranded Sponsorship Toronto. The legacy name, relevant in 2004, no longer accurately represents one of the conference’s great strengths – the country’s premier professional development conference for sponsorship marketers anchored in the heart of Canada’s business capital.
“The rebranding exercise certainly benefited from the sage advice of Jody Larose Sponsorship and Marketing Alliances Inc.,” said Mark Sabourin, Publisher of The Sponsorship Report. “Jody’s insights helped keep the process steered in the right direction.”
With the new brand comes a new website, which has now begun to feature rolling announcements of the world-class presenters who will gather October 16 and 17, 2012 at the Grand Hotel and Suites in Toronto. They include:
- Jeremy Lockhorn, Vice President, Emerging Media, Razorfish
- David Barnes, VP, Advertising and Sponsorship, Corporate Communications, American Express Canada
- Colin Campbell, Director, Corporate Partnerships, National Hockey League Players Association
- Bill Cooper, Chief Operating Partner, Twentyten Group
- Stephen Ilkiw, Manager, National Sponsorships PwC Canada
More presenters will be announced over the coming weeks.
