E! Canada Unveils The Network’s Next Brand Evolution
E! Canada has revealed the next phase of the network’s evolution. Step-in-step with E! in the U.S., the evolution is centered on expanding, elevating and enhancing the global pop culture brand to achieve the network’s mission to inspire and entertain the pop culture fan in everyone. The evolution, including a stylish new look, logo, tagline and brand campaign, embodies the way that pop culture has been embraced, redefined and amplified across today’s social spectrum. The global brand refresh debuts Monday, July 9 with the premiere of E!’s new series from Nigel Lythgoe, Opening Act.
E! Canada also announced today it is premiering new series Married To Jonas this August, which follows one of America’s sweetest couples Kevin and Danielle Jonas as they settle down in their New Jersey home and establish a happy suburban life. Also premiering later this year is Whitney Cumming’s new weekly talk show Love You, Mean It With Whitney Houston, which features a medley of witty commentary including Whitney’s take on everything from the biggest pop culture and celebrity happenings, to life, relationships, sex, and more.
“Our new look and programming plans are designed to more fully realize our brand’s potential and continue to build on our growth and success,” said Suzanne Kolb, President, E! “From news to reality to live events, E! lives at the epicentre of pop culture. For us, this exciting next chapter is all about never letting anyone go a minute without their ‘pop of culture.’”
“We are thrilled to be evolving and growing our brand alongside our E! counterparts in the U.S.,” said Neil Staite, Vice-President and General Manager, Music and Entertainment, Bell Media. “As the only market to make the brand evolution the same day as E! U.S., we continue to live on the cutting-edge of the ever-changing entertainment landscape.”
E! defines pop culture as the topics that fascinate us all – personalities, trends, music, fashion, TV, movies, art, nightlife, philanthropy, technology, design and sports. The updated look and logo, new “Pop of Culture” tagline and talent-driven brand spots help bring this to life in a uniquely E! way.
E!’s pop culture programming features a variety of genres, including reality series with fascinating personalities, clever comedy, topical series and specials, live red carpet events, unique music-driven series, and news franchises that give fans up-to-the-minute information from the world of pop culture. The faces on E! are equally diverse, ranging from E! Canada’s host Leah Miller, Ryan Seacrest, Chelsea Handler, Joel McHale, Joan Rivers, Ice-T and Nigel Lythgoe, to the Kardashian, Eastwood and Jonas families. Additionally, scripted programming will make its first debut on the network in 2013.
The evolution of the E! brand also includes the relaunch of eonline.ca this summer. The site will be expanded and updated with a redesign that builds on its best-in-class entertainment coverage and offers improvements in functionality and user interaction, as well as enhancements to its high-res photo galleries and unique social integrations. The site’s sleek design, dynamic new look and fluid content presentation parallels E!’s new on-air look and attitude.
