N-able Technologies Sets New Standards for Excellence and Reliability

n-able technologiesN-able Technologies®, the global leader in remote monitoring and management (RMM) automation software for managed service providers (MSPs) and IT departments, today announced the next generation of its industry-leading managed services technology automation platform — N-central 8.2.

Available immediately as an on-premise or hosted solution, N-central 8.2 offers the industry’s most comprehensive, fully equipped, reliable and tech-friendly RMM solution and complementary toolset. Featuring asset and warranty discovery and reporting, task automation, endpoint security and self-healing, N-central 8.2 is easy to deploy and takes technology innovation two-steps further with its new, integrated DirectConnect remote control and management module and centralized backup and recovery solution powered by CA Technologies.

N-able’s new state-of-the art DirectConnect module makes it easier and faster for technicians to remotely monitor customer devices and proactively fix issues on their desktop and server systems. DirectConnect leverages a global network of relay servers to help ensure that performance and reliability is maintained wherever the technician is connecting from and going to.

“With no reliable integrated remote control service options on the table, IT technicians have defaulted to using stand-alone software or other similar applications to ‘beam into’ a customer’s computer and troubleshoot remotely — adding another layer of complexity and expense to the service,” says Gavin Garbutt, CEO of N-able. “Our new DirectConnect module changes all that, offering the RMM industry’s first powerful, centralized approach to remote device control, management and remediation. It’s exactly what techs have been asking for and, once again, N-able is first to market.”

Featuring world-class, high-performance capabilities on par with the industry’s most popular applications, N-able’s new DirectConnect module eliminates the need for standalone point solutions by providing technicians with centralized management and reporting along with instant access to asset and warranty information. Developed in conjunction with NTRglobal’s cloud-based API and integrated within N-central, this module delivers new levels of convenience and reliability to MSPs, along with the full technical functionality required to take command of customer desktops and other devices to successfully perform ongoing incident resolution — both efficiently and cost effectively.

The new DirectConnect module is available as a free upgrade to existing N-able partners and is expected to save MSPs thousands of dollars by increasing technicians’ productivity and eliminating the need for — and costs associated with — standalone remote control licenses.

Best of all, the information gathered from the remote session is accounted for in the central dashboard and easily rolled into N-central’s N-compass IT reporting software, making it an even more powerful addition to the arsenal of N-able tools that MSPs use to better service their customers. Technicians also have immediate access to N-able’s MSP Technician Runbook throughout their remote sessions, providing them the standards-based knowledge needed to work more effectively and efficiently.

With N-central 8.2, MSPs gain the assurance of data protection for their customers through a seamless, integrated interface that controls deployment, monitoring, management and reporting of data backup and recovery on physical and virtual servers as well as workstations and laptops. Powered by CA ARCserve® D2D r16 from CA Technologies, N-central 8.2 helps MSPs deliver comprehensive business continuity services and provide off-site replication and cloud-based file and folder backup and recovery.

“The market for managed data protection services continues to grow as customers have an increasing amount of data that’s of greater value to their business than ever — but find their internal IT resources seriously constrained by multiple competing priorities,” said Bill Mann, senior vice president, Data Management at CA Technologies. “By incorporating CA ARCserve D2D into its N-central solution, N-able is making it easier than ever for MSPs to effectively address this market as part of their broader business and technology strategies.”

Other enhancements available in N-central 8.2 include endpoint security support for Microsoft Exchange 2010, and improved agent upgrade options, such as local caching of agent update files to reduce MSP and customer bandwidth demands, as well as an “always” update feature to further automate version updates.

“We are delighted to partner with CA Technologies to provide the widest and deepest portfolio of MSP recovery solutions available in the market. These new features are all designed to build upon the unique value proposition that has already drawn thousands of MSPs worldwide to the N-central platform — a proposition that ensures 100 percent IT coverage of the end customer IT environment, and drives further business success and improved productivity for our partners,” adds JP Jauvin, president and COO, N-able Technologies. “As we continue to add new innovations to our flagship N-central automation platform, we maintain our commitment to helping MSPs profitably expand their businesses and extend the range of services, support and cost savings they offer to customers.”

N-able’s N-central product family is comprised of the N-central 8.2 platform, which includes Essential, Professional and N-support Pro licenses, along with seven complementary toolsets that work together to reduce IT support costs, improve network performance and increase productivity.

N-central 8.2 is now available. Existing N-able partners who have a current maintenance and support plan will be able to quickly upgrade to N-central 8.2 free of charge and find that deploying the new technology has never been easier.
