Don Tapscott To Serve As Global Curator For Social Media Week 2012
Don Tapscott, one of the world’s leading authorities on innovation, media, and the economic and social impact of technology, is pleased to have been chosen as the global curator for Social Media Week 2012, and will deliver the opening keynote in New York City on February 13, 2012. Social Media Week takes place from February 13-17, 2012 in 21 cities, with 60,000 attendees and half a million online viewers.
Over the last year, social media has helped power the Arab Spring, the STOP SOPA Campaign and Susan G. Komen protests, proving that the debate on the role of social media and social change is over.
Don will discuss the Web as a platform for innovation and value creation. From education and science to new approaches to citizen engagement and democracy, powerful new initiatives are underway, embracing a new set of principles for the 21st century — collaboration, openness, sharing, interdependence and integrity.
