The announcement was made today by Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, and Graham Moysey, general manager of AOL Canada.
“At the Huffington Post, we’ve always done things unconventionally. Last May, we launched HuffPost Canada, our first international edition. Last month we launched Le Huffington Post in France,” stated Arianna Huffington. “I’m delighted today to announce the launch of Le Huffington Post Quebec, an edition encompassing all things Quebec and run by a strong local team. Working closely with our Canada team, HuffPost Quebec will be bringing our signature mix of news, blogging, community, and social engagement to Quebec in a way that reflects the province’s vital issues, rich history, and unique cultural identity.”
Le Huffington Post Quebec combines HuffPost’s powerful engagement platform with local expertise from a talented Quebec-based editorial team led by the site’s managing editor, Patrick White. Jean-Philippe Cipriani is news editor and Tamy-Emma Pepin is managing blog editor. Bloggers who will be contributing to the site include:
- Michel Martelly
- Yves-François Blanchet
- Michel Kelly Gagnon
- Julius Grey

“Debuting in Quebec is the next logical step for us following on the heels of our successful Huffington Post Canada launch in May,” said Graham Moysey. “The Huffington Post Canada has more than 2.2 million unique visitors a month – 268,000 UV’s from Quebec alone – and the huffingtonpost.ca site has grown 162 percent since launch. We look forward to bringing to Quebec the smart news, real-time opinion, and vibrant social nature of the Huffington Post platform.”*
