Shaw Business to Deliver City of Calgary Voice Services
Shaw Communications Inc. has announced its successful bid to provide the City of Calgary with local telephone services and an advanced custom 311 configuration. The new contract will allow Shaw Business to extend its exceptional voice network to the City of Calgary’s business requirements and will complement Shaw’s existing agreement with the City for the delivery of data services.
Shaw’s three-year agreement will service the City’s three main locations, City Hall, Manchester and Whitehorn, with more than 8,000 direct inward dial numbers and a complex call routing and management platform for the City’s 311 services. Shaw’s extensive fibre footprint provides redundancy measures to ensure uninterrupted voice coverage for the City.
“Shaw looks forward to expanding our relationship with the City of Calgary,” said Peter Bissonnette, President, Shaw Communications Inc. “Shaw Business delivers a number of scalable, reliable products to businesses across the country and we’re looking forward to extending these services to Calgarians.”
The solutions provided by Shaw Business will provide several tailor-made features to the 311 services to improve the essential municipal services line. A web portal allows for the easy creation and storage of a number of 311 greeting messages. New greetings can be created in the portal, using either voice or text, depending on changing requirements and emergency situations.
