Roam Mobility Set To Launch Roaming Plans For Canadians
Canadian telecom company Roam Mobility has announced that the company will launch a new service which aims to eliminate roaming charges for Canadians travelling into the United States. The mobile virtual network operator has entered into an agreement with T-Mobile USA Inc. to provide Canadians travelling into the U.S with local rates for talk, text and data.
“In essence, Canadians can now get American mobility rates and access to a nationwide network, without having to purchase through their Canadian carrier and incur high roaming fees,” said Emir Aboulhosn, CEO of Roam Mobility. “Canadians pay among the highest roaming rates in the world and we’d like to change that.”
Roam Mobility subscribers have access to America’s Largest 4G Network™, covering more than 200 million people and offering blazing speeds with HSPA+ 42 technology. With Roam Mobility, Canadians can now avoid the expensive roaming rates they’ve become accustomed to through their existing mobile carriers.
“We’re a socially-responsible idea,” said Aboulhosn. “We have found a way to offer transparent pricing in an industry that’s not always easy for consumers to understand.”
The new service will launch January 16, 2012. All plans are pre-paid and available in increments ranging from one to 30 days. All talk and text plans are unlimited, and include calls and text messages to the US and Canada starting at $2 per day. Data plans are available in 500 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB and 5 GB increments, with rates as low as two cents a megabyte.
