Sphere Media Plus Expands Its Operations To Toronto
Just weeks after selling the adaptation rights of the TV series Isabel to NBC, the Sphère Média Plus production house has officially opened an office in Toronto. Immediately following this announcement, the production house named the Toronto producer Carolyn Newman as its VP of Development, English Markets, North America.
“Sphère Média Plus has already been active in English Canada for a number of years, and the addition of Carolyn to our team will allow us to reinforce our presence in this market and in the USA,” said Jocelyn Deschênes, Producer and Founding President of Sphère Média Plus.
Carolyn Newman has been working in the TV and film production industry for more than ten years. She is responsible for some twenty dramas, comedies, documentaries and pilots, including Producing Parker, a comedy with Kim Catrall produced for Global, Less Than Kind for The Movie Network (TMN) and Single White Spenny for Showcase.
“I love the Sphère Média Plus team,” said Carolyn Newman, “It’s an extremely dynamic production house, as we can see from NBC’s recent interest in one of its series!”
Sphère Média Plus is the producer behind several popular Quebec series, and one of its adaptations (Sophie) has already been aired on CBC and ABC Family.
“We are extremely pleased to be a showcase for Quebec creativity and know-how in Canada and the USA”, added Jocelyn Deschênes.
