Sprouter Joins Postmedia Network Family

sprouterPostmedia Network has acquired Sprouter Inc., an Internet content company that specializes in the areas of technology, digital media, entrepreneurship and startups. Through the acquisition, Sprouter Inc. becomes a division of Postmedia Network Inc., but will continue to operate under the Sprouter name and branding under the leadership of Sarah Prevette.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sprouter to the Postmedia Network family,” said Paul Godfrey, President and CEO. “Sprouter complements our Digital First strategy and brings a spark of digital entrepreneurship to our family of brands.”

Sprouter was founded in 2009 by Sarah Prevette, who was named by Inc. Magazine as one of the top entrepreneurs in North America in 2010. Sprouter.com has become the go-to spot for tech entrepreneurs looking for advice and connections with others in the global start-up community.

“This new chapter in Sprouter’s evolution is really exciting,” said Sarah Prevette. “We are thrilled to join the team at Postmedia. Of all the various supporters who came forward, we felt that Postmedia was the best fit for our community both philosophically and from a strategic business perspective.”

Through Sprouter, entrepreneurs can ask a question, browse relevant content, comment on answers, and share advice with their networks. Sprouter also produces the popular Sprouter Weekly entrepreneurship publication, and hosts global Sprout Up events to bring together entrepreneurs in local communities.
