2014 N100 Competition Open For Entries

N100Northumberland CFDC, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing financing and strategy for entrepreneurs has issued a call for entrants for its 2014 N100 competition. N100 is a competition for startup companies with the potential to grow, innovate and create jobs in Northumberland, Ontario. There is no need to be currently located in Northumberland to participate, and a $100,000 in investment capital is available. The competition runs through three rounds and features a high-level power panel. Further details are listed below, but please see the N100 website for complete information.

Entry Fee: Free

Entry Deadline: The deadline for applications is March 14, 2014 at 5pm EDT.

Description: Launched in 2013, N100 is a Startup Competition led by Northumberland CFDC in partnership with Spark Centre and a high-level Power Panel. Through three Rounds (The Pitch, Business Planning and Negotiation) N100 startups compete for $100,000 in investment capital to support key milestones in the development of their company, such as: prototyping, testing and validation. The process (from March to July, 2014) is designed to accelerate high growth potential startups and to position them for follow-on angel investment and venture capital.

Judging Criteria: Startups must have:

  • large addressable markets
  • growth potential/scalability
  • competitive advantage
  • an excellent, credible team who will roll up their sleeves and make things happen
  • the potential to impact job creation, economic development and future prosperity in Northumberland, Ontario.

The Ubi

Eligibility: To compete, you must have an idea that involves a plan to commercialize a new product or service.  Entries may be submitted by individuals, partnerships or corporations. No matter where you are located right now, you are eligible for the N100 Startup Competition. The winner must ultimately incorporate and establish operations in Northumberland in order to be eligible for the $100,000 investment.

Awards and Prizes: $100,000 in investment capital.
