When “Mother” has a problem, gorgeous, highly-trained contract killers Veronica and Roxie get the call in the new action-thriller series Cleaners, available since Oct. 3 only on Sony’s Crackle, the free video streaming service. Cleaners is currently the #1 show on Crackle.
In the series opener, “Just the Tip,” Veronica (Canadian actress Emmanuelle Chriqui: Entourage, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan), and Roxie (Emily Osment: Two And A Half Men, Hannah Montana) are assigned to make a mystery delivery for their boss, Mother (Gina Gershon: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Ugly Betty). But the job goes bad when they find a surprise in the trunk of their car — a surprise that makes them the target of a hit squad and the FBI.
David Arquette (Scream, Never Been Kissed) stars as FBI Agent Frank Barnes, caught between the killers and … the killers.
Cleaners is the latest original series to premiere on Crackle, which streams original programming along with content from a large library of full-length movies and TV series. It follows last month’s release of Extraction, the first original feature film from Crackle. Extraction was released in September 2013 and follows a US Black Ops team member and the only survivor of a botched prisoner extraction mission. The movie stars Danny Glover, Vinnie Jones, Sean Astin, Jon Foo and was written and directed by Tony Giglio.
“Crackle offers consumers a premium, programmed entertainment experience across all platforms,” said Phil Lynch, Senior Vice President, Digital Networks at Sony Pictures Television. “We’re excited about the opportunity to work with such high profile talent, and combining award-winning original content with an extensive library of uncut full-length movies and television episodes.”
Cleaners also features Missi Pyle (The Artist, Big Fish), Nathan Keyes (The Kings of Summer) and Clifton Collins Jr. (Pacific Rim, Star Trek). It is written and directed by Paul Leyden (The Factory) and produced by Full Clip Productions and Sam Worthington.
