Ottawa’s Mediagator has announced the launch of their flagship mobile app Gnow.it on the popular crowdfunding site Indiegogo in an effort to raise $30,000. Gnow.it is a news reading app powered by artificial intelligence that promises automated personalization in order to provide a unique reading experience for each of its end users.
Gnow.it goes beyond the traditional category listing of many news applications to allow readers to access content from over 10,000 automatically derived categories, allowing anyone to find any niche that caters to their specific interests. Combining powerful personalization with an extensive content library for both common and long-tail categories, Gnow.it will be able to provide the ideal mobile reading experience.
“We found that it is very difficult to access your interests across the web in one place elegantly on your smartphone. Most people spend hours browsing the web or Twitter. Even tech-savvy folk may pour weeks into a cumbersome RSS system that mixes up content in a Sisyphean effort to render them relevant. With Gnow.it, you get a stream of articles that would really interest you,” said Shahzad Khan, Gnow.it’s Chief Scientific Officer.
“We wanted to harness the power of traditional media for everyone. We capture the data and personalize it for you. No messy set-up. No more hours spent browsing for relatively few information highs. After using the product a few times, we bring users the content they want without them ever needing to seek it again,” said Chief Operations Officer, Naeem Saloojee.
