Following Mark Burnett’s keynote address at the Canadian Media Directors’ Council today in Toronto, Channel Zero proudly announced that CHCH will be the exclusive Canadian television broadcaster for Spin Off. The show premieres this Fall on CHCH in primetime and will run for 13 weeks. Canada’s Suddenly SeeMore…Productions produced the series.
Spin Off – a 30-minute game of trivia and chance where contestants have a chance at winning thousands of dollars in cash and prizes testing their knowledge and their luck – Win big or lose it all – It’s all up to The Wheel!
The original game show format, developed by Mark Burnett’s One Three Media (mastermind of mega hit shows such as Celebrity Apprentice, Shark Tank, The Voice and Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?), was produced by Morgan Elliott of Suddenly SeeMore…Productions exclusively for CHCH. “We are very happy to be working with a television icon like Mark Burnett and to be part of making Canadian game show history,” says Jennifer Chen, VP Programming, Channel Zero. “We know Spin Off will prove to be a strong addition to our Fall line-up and an in-demand property for advertisers.”
As host of Spin Off, Elvira Kurt is a Gemini-nominated Toronto native and a Second City Alumnus with many years of comedic success in Canada and the U.S. Elvira’s charm and personality are sure to crank up entertainment value for viewers and help put contestant stress at ease.
