Rogers Communications has announced another Canadian first with the launch of the Rogers Anyplace TV on demand app for LG Smart TVs. This is the first on demand video app of its kind in Canada which authenticates to Rogers customer accounts via Smart TVs.

The extension of Rogers Anyplace TV to LG Smart TVs demonstrates our ongoing commitment to transforming TV viewing for our customers,” said David Purdy, senior vice-president, content, Rogers Communications. “We are passionate about connecting our customers to more and more of the content they love, on the growing number of platforms they’re watching it on.”

Rogers customers can log into the Rogers Anyplace TV application on their LG Smart TV by creating a profile on RogersAnyplaceTV.com. Rogers postpaid wireless, home phone and internet customers can catch up on shows from City, Global and CBC. Rogers Cable customers have access to premium programming that they subscribe to through their existing TV package such as AMC, Treehouse, W Network, Showcase, Slice, and HGTV.  At launch, the app will host more than 1,000 hours of content.

Rogers Anyplace TV will be available on 2012 and 2013 LG Smart TVs including OLED and Ultra HD.

Rogers Anyplace TV is a multiplatform entertainment experience that delivers live and on demand content including, primetime shows, film rentals, live sports, news, and kids programming, to Canadians across computers, smartphones, tablets, Xbox 360 gaming systems and now LG Smart TVs.  Rogers was the first cable company in Canada to offer web-based entertainment content streaming with RogersAnyplaceTV.com, tied to customers’ cable subscriptions. RogersAnyplaceTV.com offers Canadians access to over 14,500 on demand videos. The Rogers Anyplace TV mobile app comes pre-loaded (or available for download) on most Rogers smartphone and tablet devices, providing access to premium on demand and live entertainment content. Rogers On Demand – Channel 100 houses over 4,000 feature films, 5,000 TV episodes and specialty programs, and over 1,900 HD shows and movies.
