Paramount Pictures and leading video game publisher and developer Namco Bandai Partners UK have announced a pre-order and day-one purchase opportunity with all UK Game stores. The partnership allows any purchaser of Star Trek The Video Game on any format an exclusive complimentary ticket to this year’s hottest movie Star Trek Into Darkness, which releases in cinemas everywhere in May 2013. Star Trek The Video Game is currently in development at Digital Extremes.
Working with Hollywood Movie Money, upon pre-order or day-one purchase the customer will receive a unique code where they can redeem it instantly online via a special microsite. The redemption will award a full adult ticket to any Cineworld cinema in the country. Any additional seating or upgrade will have to be purchased at the cinema chain. The promotion will be available whilst ticket allocation and box office remains. Pre-orders are a focused push for this activity and guaranteed to secure your free ticket.
Namco Bandai Partners UK and Game will also select a special winner from all the purchasers and offer a VIP, red-carpet treatment to a future Paramount Pictures UK Premiere including 5 star accommodation.
The action-packed combat game is set to launch in the UK & EU on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC April 26th, prior to the May 17th theatrical release of Star Trek Into Darkness. The game is based on a stand-alone storyline that continues the adventure of iconic characters Kirk and Spock as they work together to stop the legendary ‘Gorn’ enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy.
“Since the exciting announcement of Star Trek The Video Game we have been teasing fans with little nuggets of what they’re likely to experience in this unique story.”, commented Lee Kirton, Namco Bandai UK’s PR & Marketing Director. Kirton continued, “We wanted to offer something truly special and valuable to fans so working with GAME stores group has allowed us to award the consumer with a pass to the hottest movie this year following their unique video game experience.”
Paramount unveiled Star Trek The Video Game in pre-alpha phase at 2011’s Electronic Entertainment Exposition (E3) and won the praise of critics including the prestigious “Most Valuable Game” awards from Official Xbox Magazine and PlayStation: The Official Magazine, and was included as one of CNN’s Top 5 Games of E3 2011 list
