benqBenQ Canada Corp. has announced that the W1070 home entertainment projector will be available in Canada before the end of November at an MSRP of $999 (CAD). With full 1080p and 3D projection for under $1,000, the W1070 projector brings premium cinematic and multimedia experiences to home entertainment rooms — all at an exceptional value.

Built to be center stage of today’s media-rich home entertainment lifestyles, the W1070 delivers immersive 3D content from gaming, apps, videos, photos, and Blu-ray™ discs by supporting various formats and connection standards such as W1070 Home Entertainment ProjectorNVIDIA® 3DTV Play™, DLP® Link™, and dual HDMI®. Featuring a 3D source auto detect function, the W1070 allows users to enjoy razor-sharp 3D content effortlessly by simply connecting their device to the projector for plug-and-play operation. The W1070 also features superior 1080p picture quality, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, and built-in audio speakers to take the home theater experience to an entirely new level of enjoyment.

“With the W1070, BenQ has created the world’s first 3D full 1080p high definition projector at the sub $1,000 price range,” said Mike Booker, Vice President of Sales at BenQ Canada Corp. “Just in time for the holidays, users gain access to cinema-like picture quality and the captivating immersion of 3D video, right in their homes. This has never been done before at such an affordable price — it’s an industry first and a tremendous value for home viewers. It further establishes BenQ as a premier home projection innovator.”

In addition to price and quality, the W1070 is ISFccc-certified by the Imaging Science Foundation® (ISF®), a feature until now only reserved for higher-priced projectors. ISFccc enables viewers to enjoy a perfectly calibrated picture along with two optimized modes — ISF Day and ISF Night — delivering an unparalleled professional viewing experience. Furthermore, at only 6.4 lbs., with a variety of connection options, and taking advantage of its built-in 10W speaker, the projector offers added flexibility and portability for taking the movie experience to other locations if desired.

Beautifully designed, the W1070 also cuts costs and energy consumption by integrating BenQ’s industry-leading SmartEco™ technology for longer lamp life. In “SmartEco” mode, the W1070 automatically adjusts the lamp power to maximize power savings by delivering the best contrast and brightness performance using only as much light as needed. To further reduce power consumption, a “no source detected” mode automatically lowers brightness to 30 percent when no display has been detected for more than three minutes. In the “Eco Blank” mode, the projector is capable of power savings up to 70 percent. In addition, the W1070 does not require a filter to clean or replace, which further reduces the projector’s total cost of ownership.

The W1070 projector will be available in Canada before the end of November at an MSRP of $999 (CAD).
